Sean Casey was raised in the Santa Clarita Valley, where he completed his K-12 education and also attended community college at College of the Canyons in Valencia, California. At College of the Canyons he received his Associates Degree in Science with an emphasis in Fire Technology. Sean transferred to California State University Channel Islands in the Fall of 2013 where he received his Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science with an emphasis in Resource Management. Due to his interest and background in fire science, Sean’s capstone study focused on fire ecology in an ongoing wetlands restoration project on Santa Cruz Island, in Channel Islands National Park. Sean graduated from CSU Channel Islands in Winter 2016 and is currently employed with the Ventura County Watershed Protection District. He plans to advance his career in either water resource management or the fire service.
